After 82 days, the Ukrainian army command decides to capitulate. Citizens are evacuated to a safe area via a corridor. The military surrender, are disarmed and taken to Russian camps as prisoners of war. In the months that followed, many were released through prisoner exchanges and told about the harsh conditions during the siege and imprisonment.
